Coverage
Condo Insurance
A condo (HO-6) policy covers your unit's interior building property, your belongings, liability, and loss assessments the association passes on to owners.
What a policy usually includes
- Unit-owner building property (walls-in improvements)
- Personal property and scheduled valuables
- Personal liability and medical payments
- Loss assessment coverage
- Loss of use if your unit is unlivable
What to watch for
- Read the master policy: 'bare walls' vs. 'all-in' changes what you must insure.
- Association deductibles are often shared back to owners by assessment.
- Renovations and upgrades can raise the unit-owner building limit you need.
